If she was a vampire during her first fight with Subaru and friends then I don't think she would of lost (the time before reinheart [I might of misspelled that] showed up cause I don't think there was any beating him even with regeneration ) I'm assuming either the Light Novel had more details about it that were left out or it happened off screen.

Subaru gets invisible hand powers and...fails to pull off a science trick. Subaru really does alternate between cool and useless throughout the entire series.
