2024-05-08 16:37:39 +0000 UTCnever lend a trailer to someone imo, i let a family member borrow mine and it did 5000kms when it was supposed to be doing 100kms, anyway long story short the wheel from the back left went past me doing 100km/h near my home, luckily no one was hurt, just the wheel, axel and sheet metal on the wheel guard!

2024-03-31 18:26:21 +0000 UTCUnlike certain NYS types, never did a wheelie with the forklift--so, really that was pretty good operation with care and consideration. So, how complicated is it to program machining operations? Back in the 90s the touch part was getting various "solid" CAD/CAM modelels into usable G-code. All the tedious bit os dropping in flags to operators about tool changes where necessary, or any jig/clamp adjustments.

2024-03-31 13:22:22 +0000 UTCAny dust cap in a storm, ezlube maybe an upgrade, but the hubs are all the same so if the trailer manufacturer is only going to stock one type, better be universal.. Looks like you bagged a good deal on the Hurco, we have a 93 Mitsubishi Dynamechtronics with a Meldas M3 control, thing is a real trooper, this last year we added an M function and through spindle coolant real country style, uses the flood coolant pump and a used drill coolant inducer mounted on the top of the pull stud, few relays, a couple solenoid and check valves to keep the coolant and air from mixing and its really quite effective, (we drill a lot of holes in mild steel with insert drills) Good luck with the toolchanger they can be a trick, don't forget to back up your macros once you get it going!

2024-03-31 12:50:25 +0000 UTCthat little rubber cap is for a dexter easy lube style axle, the sort with a zerk fitting in the end of the spindle you pump grease in and it comes out between the inner bearing and hub seal and in theory flushes all the old grease out through the outer bearing and gets caught in the cup where you can scoop it out and chuck it. In my experience they work pretty well, certainly better than a "bearing buddy" that packs from the outside with no where for the grease to go.
