I just had to pull my transmission after a time consuming auto/manual swap after suspecting my brand new flywheel was out of balance. Very defeating. Also, that "gone through" transmission is leaking where it shouldn't be 🤦♂️

Plus they just came out with a new line so the old model is $239 for the stand alone lens... (steep discount from it's original price). I picked up one about 12 month ago and just grabbed another when they dropped the price.

I didn't have any garage space at the time and was at the mercy of shops and dealerships. I ended up spending over 3K from dealership parts cannon repair attempts before they found the issue.

I feel for our British brethren, but, 78.8°F is the temp here in DFW around 0900 most days . . . which also about when the skeeters all come out to feed, too . . .

2024-06-16 19:26:44 +0000 UTCI hear you on the diesel repair stuff. And, it's likely going to get worse as diesels from more emissions-strict places "migrate" away. All the sensors and systems around regeneration, the various Can buses required and the like make for wiring nightmares.

They just cannot vizualize every condition, especially in today's vehicles. I bought a Buick Century with that engine in about 1984. Drove it from KC to St. Louis every week. About six months later, the engine just stopped. Had it towed back to the dealership. They found that a temperature sensor (79 cents) had failed, so the electric fan never turned on, the engine over-heated, and that destroyed the engine. Too bad, but these things happen. I said my attorney would be in touch and we would sue for damages and the mental duress caused by their cavalier attitude. They put in a new engine at no cost. When I was in high school, I worked at the local Amoco station, changing water pumps. We made zero profit on gasoline, so the service revenue paid the bills. Eventually, the owner went broke. He hired a couple of sloppy guys and all of the free remediation killed the business. It's a pain to work by yourself, but in some ways it's a lot better. Hang in there!

Okay, ball joints and shocks, they are still the originals. Replace them all, no obvious issues, and the clunking is still there. While scratching my head I lead on the front bumper and it MAKES THE CLUNK!!! I think it was the front bumper being loose the whole bloody time. !$%!$%^@!%^&@%%!
