Working on a new sticker or T-shirt idea

What do you think? Watch Wife Work says there is no limit to the length I will go to troll pedants. She might have a point.

FYI, I drew this with Inkscape. It's a poor mans version of Adoble Illustrator. You can download it for free. Just a warning, the learning curve is basically vertical.

Hah! Stick it to a tube amplifier first.

I learned on Aldus Freehand back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. In my defence, I was 12 at the time. I eventually migrated to Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator isn't too bad, but it has some idiosyncrasies in the basic interface that Adobe seems completely uninterested in fixing. I have used Inkscape, and it feels like what would be produced if you asked someone that has never used a computer with a GUI to create a vector graphics program. It's UI is incredibly belligerent, and everything about it is frustrating. I've more recently switched to Affinity Designer, which is bearable enough that it's my daily driver for vector graphics these days. There are somethings when it comes to manipulating paths by points that Illustrator does better, but on the whole it's less frustrating. And much much much cheaper. $70 for a full license, no subscription malarky.

I need some to send to Mr. Carlson.

Looks great! If it helps, you can save a lot of time by using Fiverr for this kind of stuff, I had a selection of five super professional looking options for my logo done on there for like $70.

Shane Beeder

LOL

James Meyer

Ronnie at Joe's classic video games can go on for hours about "saulder" vs "sodder" while he solders circuit boards. lol

scottgm321

Love it, but would love it more without the "policing pronunciation".

Jeff Richardson

It kinda looks like one or two Submarine Patches I recall seeing in my bubblehead days

Blane Gardner

got it

brian cook

That's the whole point.

Watch Wes Work

One small problem over here we pronounce the l but good for a laugh

brian cook

Make sure you're using 60/40 lead solder then you can upset the eco brigade as well. Two for One.

AJG

Good for a sticker!

John Hubbard

French is a dumpster fire. I had three years of French in high school ( not my choice ).I took two years of german in college.

Sue Rollinson

Love it!

Reese

Works for me.

Bill Scott

Ease your workload and go to one of those fancy ai tools like starryai.com. I am sure with your ideas something epic would be created. My attempt was lame - https://starryai.com/app/user/Pierport/creation/1000010326

Tom Hollowell

I’m down for either - love it

Mark Lam

Thumz up here

Daniel Moore

Would take the L out of sodering

David Baldwin

With apologies to Betty Botter, if you want folks to get it, it should rhyme. Sally Slaughter bought some solder But she said, this solder's odder I must use it under water. Won't that make my water hotter? I need some under-water solder for my daughter, the hot-rodder. So she bought some water solder Better than the odder solder Her daughter soldered under water And the water got no hotter. So 'twas better Sally bought her daughter under-water solder

Christopher Hogan

On board!

dcs1846

I like it, kind of tongue in cheek😄

Colin McElduff

I have a few friends that would get it. Many others wouldn't. That makes it perfect.

Greg Trickey

There's no accounting for some people's taste.

Watch Wes Work

It's this kind of humor that draws people to your channel, I think. At least, it is for me.

Dale Evans

awesome!

Joe Sapiro

Oh Man. That's funny. Gotta have one.

James Bos

Oh! Now I get it. I’m kind of slow that way

Jeff Chandler

Ah, that makes sense. I'm always amazed when folks are learning german because internationally speaking, it's pretty much useless if you're not trying to talk to germans and it's a bitch to learn. But yeah, the auto industry might be one of these occurrences :-)

Anditainment

more, please

Bill

Immediately, if not sooner

Jay and Kate

I took 3 years of Spanish in high school which is required to go to college. Then I learned German at my first job out of college in the auto industry. I didn't get far though, they cut the classes during the recession in 2008.

Watch Wes Work

...and how come you learned german?

Anditainment

The "vertical learning curve" comment is a sticker in of its self. Lol

Chris Jenkins

Since I'm a german native speaker I can't really tell but some googling brings up strange rules which I'm actually not aware of even though my mother is a german teacher. Like ä/e, short vowel / long vowel. dafuq? But yeah, in echt and mächtig e und ä are the same but in Bären and Beeren they aren't. Anyways, at least if you get into regional dialects it get's messy to say the least. Yeah, french what came to mind first with british english being a closed second (would you like some woa (water)?)

Anditainment

I’m in

James Riordan

I worked in a public library for 23 years. Please do troll pedants, they drive librarians mad.

Sue Rollinson

The only languages I learned were German and Spanish. They both seem pretty good on spelling matching pronunciation (as good or better than English). French seems like a dumpster fire. Other than that I don't really know.

Watch Wes Work

Ah, that makes sense, while reading stuff my inner voice really doesn't do much pronunciation, it's more like an instant text to meaning thing. And being from central Europe: If you like spelling not resembling pronunciation: Come over here, we've got you covered!

Anditainment

It's all about the "L". Some words the L is silent. Some words it is not. English is fun.

Watch Wes Work

As a non-native speaker / non us-american I've no clue where the punch line might be, even though I'm quite good at speaking English. Might somebody enlighten me? I'm not into trans-atlantic mailorder so I'm not the audience for this anyways but I'd like to share the laugh.

Anditainment

That might be the best part!

Watch Wes Work

I've never tried anything else, so I don't really know how it stacks up. Seems to do everything I need it to if I can figure out how to rub it the right way.

Watch Wes Work

It's a conversation starter. Maybe not in a good way.

Watch Wes Work

I am not sure they would even know they're being trolled.

Nick Vogel

I need this

Robert Swaine

Random and wonderful, I’d buy it!

Toby Forsdyke

Love it. Agree with respect to Inkscape but there are loads of examples and forums for assistance. Keep “soldering on” and poking the trolls. 😀

Scott Childress

I would wear this

Jeffrey Ramsey

Keep on trolling the pedants, we all love you for it

Sneffaloken
