Can I revive this sketchy brush cutter?

Without losing an arm...

Can I revive this sketchy brush cutter?

Comments

People in the comments side Stihl has a larger dome shaped hub on the bottom. That would work even better. I might try 3D printing one.

Watch Wes Work

Seems like a good idea if it was fixed.

Darren B McLellan

Well, it's a bit like living with salted roads, you learn to adapt or suffer a lot.

CapnMac82

I remember that lol, what the hell was that about? I remember feeling the same way about The Blair Witch Project with all of its hype i just wanted my money back lol.

Darran

The problem with goat is you have to feed them in winter.

Watch Wes Work

Ouch! I read once about a guy who had a sickle mower on his boat to mow around his pond.

Watch Wes Work

I have not seen it since I was a kid. I kinda remember liking it, so I probably should not rewatch it. It's hard for it to be worse than 2 with the 12ish year old kid drug dealer.

Watch Wes Work

It works but weeds wrap around it.

Watch Wes Work

I don't know how you guys do it. It was 100 here for the first time in 11 years. We just are not prepared for it. Most schools do not have AC. None of the buses have AC. Heck I only have one small fan in my shop.

Watch Wes Work

That mini trailer hitch/ground clearance thing was interesting. I was wondering what effect it would have on the system. Thanks for the video.

scottgm321

It was nice, I stood out in it until it ended. Most of my showers last longer than it did but they don't come with lightening lol. Ft Worth.

scottgm321

I feel your pain on the heat. Here in DFW we're on day 43 of 100+, which is a lot; but nothing on the 69 days in 1980. But, it finally rained some today, first time in 9 weeks.

CapnMac82

get some goats mate, those brush cutters are great here in Australia i find bits of snake left and right when i cut the long grass!

Steven Cox

Our farm had several ponds and protocol dictated the bull grass be cut to the waters edge. The preacher and his family liked to fish there and we couldn't have them getting snake bit on our watch. The M John Deere and the sickle mower took care of all the areas where the bank wasn't too steep. Worked good except for the occasional muskrat hole, they always added excitement. Then Dad got a BushWacker. He was as happy as a pig in poop! When he got too old to handle the beast, it was passed down to me but of course I had a better idea. Remember my story of the MF135 and bush hog that submarined when the bank caved in?

Eddie Williamson

I actually went to the cinema to see Robocop 3 it was abysmal. 2hrs of my life i will never get back.

Darran

I think I've got a few of those around here.

Watch Wes Work

I think I got it to seal well enough for my limited use. It barely uses any fuel.

Watch Wes Work

I think what your strap needs is some half rotten, like it needs to be at least 3-4 different shades of dark yellow/orange, foam from the bottom cushion of a broken down tractor seat. Use some of your finest electrical tape to permanently attach it to your seatbelt strap at either end of the foam and you got yourself shoulder comfort!

The Dastardly Dimwit

I recognize that carb, most older Shindaiwa engine's used them in the 80's, actually had one pass through about a month ago on a fire pump, got the engine going but the pump leaked around the impeller shaft. Fun fact that needle is interchangeable with just about any newer shindaiwa carb, just need to bend the float tabs a bit.

Kowyn Hibbert (Warrior of the Rusty Wrench)

Great video, especially the intro. The 'It's only temporary, unless it works' sticker should be the design for the next T shirt.

Max Chaplin

This was my list. She has a whole other list.

Watch Wes Work

Maybe next year...

Watch Wes Work

I nice trip through the countryside.

Watch Wes Work

Seems to!

Watch Wes Work

Attack that honeydew list. ;-) Great video as always.

Michael Belt

Too bad the boy is just a LIIITTLE bit to young to run such a device. But maybe your next project you can put wheels on it and the young man can push it around. I'm sure there's no safety issues with that.

Curtis Roberts

Love the various shots of the area around my hometown! Keep up the great videos of your work.

Craig D Renwick

Doesn’t the beer just taste better when you can revive old stuff?

Nick Vogel

Just tried to send it to you via Amazon UK and it can't be shipped via Amazon to the US, sorry.

Tim Allan

Nor had I until the **** hit the *** . Seriously, it wasn't good. Found best thing I've found the fine mesh shield from chainaw safety kit, allows ventilation in the hot weather. Don't envy you the 100F.

AJG

Now, were it Andrew, there's be a $40K skidsteer and a $4K brush cutter, which would need a pile of "fixes" and take 4-5 weeks. And get stuck driving up a goat trail on a mountain. :-D

CapnMac82

I'll take your word for it!

Watch Wes Work

I'll look for it!

Watch Wes Work

He's under the floor.

CapnMac82

One week into my membership and I am not disappointed. I am so pleased to see that you are the same height at the end of the weed cutting as you started. I have used Carbusonic Ultrasonic carburettor cleaning solution, really successfully, (https://www.carbusonic.co.uk/) I have no idea if they will ship to the USA or if I can purchase it for you and send it over.

Tim Allan

Looking at those weeds, I was half expecting a special guest appearance by Jimmy Hoffa....

Brendan Hood

They'll be gone in a month or so. Once we get the first frost.

Watch Wes Work

Yikes!

Watch Wes Work

Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

Watch Wes Work

I am surprised OSHA has not banned something that works that well. Great additian to the fleet. My brother put a circular saw blade on his, that thing would eat telephone poles !!

dozerman53111

The best weed Wacker is Roundup when they are small!

Bill Rutherford

We usually spray but just didn't get time this year.

Watch Wes Work

LOL! I hadn't thought about that!

Watch Wes Work

I'd recommend better face covering. That or be sure to keep mouth closed. My neigbour had a dog, when using brushcutter I encountered something it had left in my garden - not, I add, a tennis ball. You have a dog...

AJG

A few things. Roundup is your friend. I have found undiluted Simple Green in sonic cleaners to be a winner. I am pretty sure Mortske would have paid for that crap in your bins. Kudos for not taking out any tires with your wheel of death. Great video as always.

Tom Hollowell

Ankle cutting attachment! Love it!

Jeff Chandler

Did you get rid of you fly problem?

Sue Rollinson

Mustie1 uses Gunk carb cleaner.

Sue Rollinson

Probably.

Watch Wes Work

I'm using Pinesol. I don't recommend it.

Watch Wes Work

Are you using car cleaner in your ultrasonic cleaner?

Sue Rollinson

Does the blade need to be sharpened?

Sue Rollinson
