I good with whatever you do!

Bruce Hobbs

He will hurt someone if he keeps driving this junk. Hopefully he retires soon.

I learned in shop class that most likely would cause a blown out piston.....miracle no one died. Thanks for sharing.

Lou Justlou

Big hammers.

Watch Wes Work

More than half I suspect!

Watch Wes Work

Boy she's a rust bucket for a 10 year old rig.

Watch Wes Work

It would have been amusing to see how much rust actually came off that beast. I grew up in Milwaukee, so it's a bit like home in a very unhappy way.

Bill

I hope this is an outlier, but these vehicles are out there.

I hate those locking lug nuts. I bought a whole set of sockets for them and still don't ever have the one I need.

Watch Wes Work

This makes me grateful that we have rigorous vehicle inspections in my country. Bloody terrifying to think that there's a shitheap like that sharing the same roads as you and your family. Thanks for sharing Wes!

My daughter bought a 99 Dakota, no title, off of marketplace. She called me crying that she couldn't stop and nearly hit someone. I grabbed my tools and jack and went to look. The inside pad was gone and the metal shim fell out when I reached up there. The seller did not provide the 11 spline locking lug tool, so I had to use my 2 pounder and ruin a few sockets. One of the caliper pins broke off in the caliper bracket, so i had to buy a new one. All I hear is Derek at VGG "Help me understand".

But it's so nice here...

Wow, that's pretty wild! Luckily there's not much traffic in my area.

I strangely love brake jobs and always take my time on them. Glad to see you did this one right. I appreciated the needle scaler on the hub. I agree with you, it is unnerving that rigs like this are hurtling down the road. I'm a former automotive forensic engineer and investigated hundreds of passenger and commercial vehicle accidents over 5 years. I've seen just about every root cause but the most common culprits were brakes and tires (also the human brain, but that is a completely separate discussion).

Matt Londergan

LOL!

John B Moore

Watching you and Eric O makes me thankful I was born a southern boy!

Eddie Williamson

Now they can drive it to the scrap yard.

I was waiting for the frame to buckle from all the hammering to get the rotor off. You were knocking a lot of rust off the parts before you even got them off the truck. Good job! That's one less death machine on the road.

Darran

It happened to me once. But I just pulled it back into the driveway and fixed it...

Mint!

Watch Wes Work

This is the worst one I've seen!

Watch Wes Work

They salt the roads all year.

Watch Wes Work

And all my years of driving regular cars have only been metal to metal once and the sound is ear piercing. I was 16 years old and had no clue. When I brought it in to get work done the mechanic probably had the same face that you made in this video.

Peter Nowikow

What do they use on the roads in your area that makes vehicles rust so bad? I live in Idaho and drove a 76 Chevy 4x4 for 40 years and over 400,000 miles and it didn't look that bad.

Dennis Lesh

Someone needs to take his keys from him if he can't hear that grinding caliper !! In all my 40 years twisting wrenches, I've NEVER seen one like that one. Put that one in Ripleys museum... Great video Wes. You all have some industrial grade salt up north.

dozerman53111

Lmao i think you will find it satisfying waving them off to find another victim.

Darran

I lol'd at the creampuff reference :)

Chris Freemesser

I can't wait to find out!

Just adding extra weight...

Watch Wes Work

What are the customers going to do with the crusty plough trucks when you turn them all away this winter because you have gone full time YouTube?

Darran

Funny about leaving out those squeakers! I sure do like Watching Wes Work. Thank you sir!

Jeff Chandler

Deaf, mechanically inept, and I don't think he can even see over the dash.

Watch Wes Work

Air hammer, regular hammer, needle scaler....

Watch Wes Work

I think so!

Watch Wes Work

Jeez he must be half deaf and didn't mind have crappy brakes.

Eric Corse

Thanks for the video. I enjoy seeing how you work on these rust belt cars, so I have ideas when I work on my own.

Kirk Struik

Illinois salt ❤️

James Riordan

I worked on one of those a few years ago. Came in for something I dont remember and the mentioned there "might" be an issue with the rear brakes. Freaking outer pad was gone on both sides. Completely missing gone. Probably your guys brother.
