Thursday I left for Houston at 0700 with it 34°F, got to Houston to have it be 59°F at 1100, then back to DFW at 1645 with it being 63°F. Then, it was all of 35°F for a high yesterday, and not much better today. We have rain predicted this w/e, but, maybe, nothing frozen. Y'all up there around 41°N have had some ugly cold with this recent sequence of Bomb Cyclones.

2024-01-20 18:37:51 +0000 UTCHopefully the Comments section will not give you grief for not using PVC primer on the capped-off pipe. Primer has a place in glued PVC plumbing, if mostly as something the JM or Inspector can see after the fact.

Even though that might be "wasted" man-hours on the billing. And, I can see where it might not be good video, too. Although it might have appeased the Comments Section :-) Which does suggest a "patreon perk" of creating a Short out of out-take content. Dunno. Might be more work than it's worth.

2024-01-20 16:43:21 +0000 UTCMaybe get a small space heater for that bathroom and insulate the pipes. I know my shop bathroom has a tendancy to freeze also being that its next to and exterior wall. I've had to fix a pipe or two myself.

2024-01-20 16:18:25 +0000 UTCBlech. PVC water line. If you ever do get to rebuilding that loft, I've had great experience with PEX A / expansion pex. If you pony the extra few buckets for brass fittings and use as few fittings as possible, it's surprising freeze damage resistant. Also glad to hear that part of the country is still alive. There are still today lots and lots of cars stranded on i80. From what I understand theyre getting extorted by tow companies for 1000s to get their abandoned cars removed. What a nightmare. Cheese state is still hanging in there, somehow you guys ended up way colder than us, something stopped the completely stoopid negative double digits air temps from hitting us.
