Engineering Type Videos
Added 2024-02-22 18:10:13 +0000 UTCI got a lot of support in the last video for more engineering/electronics/computer type videos. Would you like to see them on the normal Watch Wes Work channel, or should I move them to a second channel? Engineering type videos take much longer to make and cannot be released on a weekly basis.
Also, keep in mind that I would not be able to run two channels at the same level as my current channel, so one would necessarily have to suffer to feed the other. I can see pluses and minuses to both options.

Just let me know. If you spawn a separate channel for each type of video I'm in. Your content is top notch no matter what the type or the subject.

I still enjoy heat and beat will it run videos through. The only other place I see quality diagrams like yours is Squatch253. I think Matt at Dieselcreek has done well because he a somewhat keeps a variety in his videos although not to the technical extent on WWW. BTW - thanks for being an early reference for Area Diesel Service. They're popping up in more and more of the other channels I watch. Diesel Creek, ScrappyIndustries, Farmcraft101, PacificNortwestHillbilly, and LAOL. Keep up the good work!

On this channel I've seen in depth electrical analysis that the barbarians would consider black magic and probably stone you to death for practicing it while they pour gasoline down the neck of a clapped out carburetor.

2024-02-23 02:21:25 +0000 UTCI like watching some poor bastard suffer with rusted trash as much as the next guy, but I really like the variety you bring, I'm a retired electronics tech who's retreading as a machinist in a small job shop, and have been dabbling in mechanical work for decades. Your no wall strategy of problem solving is a real one off compared to the usual channels, lots of talented people out there, but not many who can shift gears from "will this Hatz even run" to "lets reverse engineer the control system" with enough information to follow but enough humor and levity to keep it out of the deep weeds of computer programing.

Like the squirrel hunting video and things like that. It doesn't matter though, wherever you choose to post a video I'm going to watch it.

When you split that one tractor in half that was pretty neat how you did that. I'm sure some people watch as I do to learn how to fix that equipment. And I do enjoy your videos. I think your channel has a unique character due to the technical level you bring to the channel. I admit it's not likely to sky rocket you too 1 milllion subscribers, but I think it appeals to your fan base. I know I enjoy it a lot.

I'm just glad that you finally made a Patreon that will hopefully supplement things enough to give you the flexibility to do things you find interesting rather than being as much of a slave to chasing pennies in the shop.

I'm a CA native and still live here but family was in Nebraska and I spent summers there hanging at my uncles small town grocery and the co-op garage. Your trips to the county fair, local events and such are just as cool as the nerdy stuff... which I enjoy also. Retired IT... cut my teeth on Tandy TRS80 with cassette deck data storage, Bell and Howell/Apple, Apple I and II all the way to the latest Macs prior to retiring so keep the nerd coming too... but one channel suits me...

The biggest issue I could see in splitting them would be how long it would take for your visitors to know of and subscribe to the second channel. I will be watching the content if it's on a single or on multiple channels.

I also watched the remote control crane Scrappy Industries built, it was not as exciting, very useful project no doubt, yours was just flat-out cool!

Just throw what your workin on on your channel when you can, be it cars, trucks, barns, CnC, robots, or dishwashers 👍

I'll watch the longer-term engineering projects wherever they end up. I have gotten such a kick out of the forestry robot series.

No matter what you do, those with opinions which do not matter are going to fuss, don't let them steal your motivation. These would fit well in Watch Wes Wing It. It depends how much effort you want to put into editing and who your target audience is for that specific project. I'd prefer more unpolished content on the 2nd channel but I'm happy with whatever scraps you throw us :)

Working on my own rusty junk, or watching somebody like you do it, helps balance out a lifetime of working in IT and dealing with %^@^%# computers ;)

It is awesome seeing things I don't know much about, but the tech side of my brain is completely taken up by my IT job. No matter what though I'll enjoy what you make because it's high quality.
