Happy (yet sad) Gator
Added 2019-04-17 16:01:01 +0000 UTCI was a little apprehensive on sharing this one as I don't think it stands up with most of my works/sketches. Let's do a short deconstruction to see why I feel this way!
- The posing is bland and lacks energy; feels to generic.
- The characters emotions could have been better portrayed. Perhaps having the Gator rest it's head on it's clasped hands to give a more endearing look.
- The front of the gators snout is too large and distracts the viewers eyes from the gators face/expression. Making the front of the snout smaller/more tapered would have reduced this.
- The feet feel a bit of a cheat and don't flow with the rest of the character. They were a bit of a slapdash and done without to much thought.
Think I'm wrong? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions! I'd like to hear what you think makes this work or doesn't.
Is sharing works like this then discussing what's wrong with them something you'd like to see? Perhaps red-line over the issues to help better convey what could be done to fix them?
