VTuber News (April 17-20, 2022)

Weekly VTuber News:

(April 17-19, 2022)

> Amelia Watson will be incapacitated for some time. Despite being gluten-intolerant, the girl just keeps chugging them down lmfao.

[CONTEXT: Ame is gluten intolerant, yet hates gluten-free food because they taste bad.]

> Pomu Rainpuff, my absolutest most favoritest in NijiEN reaches 300k subs.

> WACTOR gains more notoriety as the absolute worst VTuber agency when 3 suspended members of WACTOR Gen 2 made a joint statement on their personal accounts, saying that all of their contracts had ended. Despite having their contract ended,

WACTOR proceeds to still demand that these talents work under them, terminating them despite having their contract ended, and as thus cannot actually claim the money that they earned prior. The three talents have stated that they're getting lawyers involved.

Context: If you guys remember, WACTOR was the guy that doxxed one of their talents, Laila, a few weeks back.

> VSaikyou, the VTuber Apex Legends tournament hosted by Shibuya HAL has begun. Minato Aqua broke through 100k+ views.

This is the result of the tournament: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/u5mqhr/results_of_the_apex_tournament_good_job_to/

> Pacific Hololive NAC Ferrari, that race car that got Hololive's stuff painted on em and collabed with is ranked 6th on today's GT300 Provisional Race.

> Demondice is inbound for Hawaii. She announced her VIP packages that'll allow fans to get her merch, take a photo, an autograph, and even a conversation. 20 fans will also get a free towel.

> VShojo's Veibae got banned on Twitch, reason being that a dildo was shown on stream. The ban lasts for 24hrs

> CookieSwirlC, a YouTuber with content that's actually catered towards kids and has 17m subs becomes a VTuber.

> Big drama, but nothing that really involves YouTube VTubers since the drama is just contained on Twitch. A shit ton of streamers are hijacking the #vtuber hashtag, among(us) them are infamous twitch streamer Amouranth, xqc, and most notoriously--the streamer that was the focal point of this entire clownfest--ElizabeteTV. It got to a point where even on the most viewed streamers on the #vtuber hashtag were just hornybaiters, asmr streamers, and just normal people. The #vtuber hashtag then trended on Twitter, with many indie VTubers and fans calling for the streamers who intentionally misused the hashtag to be reported. The fanbases of those streamers misusing the tag were also coming after those VTubers, with the more proactive one being XQC's.

There are entire videos about the subject, and I don't want to make this news as long as it already is since the drama is Twitch exclusive, but this is essentially just the tldr. The more notorious perpetrator, ElizabeteTV, lost her shit and broke down. Here's an archive of her little episode:

> Mumei discovers a fanmade game called Mumei No Toshi. The game is actually really impressive. I'm definitely dropping him a donation when the YouTube money comes.

> Kiara discussed that she's got a psychologist and started therapy. She's also looking to get apartments as she wants to try being a landlord, citing that her siblings will be her first clients. Her viewers were concerned since business and family never mingle well, especially in circumstances like these. I wouldn't worry about the therapy part though. Idk if ya'll know this, but Kiara's got some issues. She's kind of a menhera but more lowkey than most. The Rushia situation might have convinced her that she actually needed help in case she breaks down too.

> Sakamata Chloe's past identity has been found.

> Crunchyroll interviews Nanashi Mumei, Fauna, and all of Council in a series of articles.

> Nijisanji EN's Official Channel reaches 400k subs

> Vox Akuma reaches 600k subs.

> A while ago, Ike Eveland did a karaoke where he sang two songs by his favourite vocaloid producer,  無力P. One of the songs had a metal growl. Due to the explosion of this clip, it eventually reached the producer itself, which led the guy to release a new vocaloid song, saying that Ike's performance was the reason why he made another song after so many years. It's a really cool story.

> EN Overwatch Collab ft Towa.

> Kobo, when she got scared during a horror scream, said something along the lines of 'Ya Allah!' (a muslim version of 'oh my god').

She got scared that there was going to be backlash from that but people actually didnt care she said that, so she's fine.

> Athelia Hiroyuki has announced her graduation this April 30th from MyHoloTV

> Nijisanji Minecraft Servers confirmed to have finally merged.

> Lauren Iroas and the owner of the pirated porn that he had made a settlement and now they're basically married. He made his apology today.

[CONTEXT: Lauren Iroas self-imposed a break as an apology for illegally pirating porn some weeks back, which is a massive no no in Japan. This got people angry at him, demanding that he apologize, to which he did, and took a break as a result. The porn actress and a production company were even teasing him about it. However, his pre-chat was getting spammed and was bombared with dislikes. Having a 24k like to 11k dislike ratio as of writing.

Scary what Japan does to you if you fuck up their rules, eh?

> Kanata will stream on the 21st of April.

> V-Carnival Tickets are now open for overseas viewers.

> Small Drama: Tsukino Mito (my absolute favourite in NijiJP) is being passionated bombarded by very annoying and dedicated antis. It got to a point where Mito literally had to limit her chat to 'subscribed for an entire week' mode. Nijisanji itself has released an announcement saying they will defend the talents, and might even conduct legal actions.

Drop down news that I missed! College was tough last week and weeks after thisso I'm not sure if I got everything down.
