Terminology: all crochet terms used are U.S.
Technique: Interlocking (Double) filet crochet with diagonals and solid meshes / Overlay mosaic crochet with diagonals.
Yarn: for example, Scheepjes Stone Washed
Yarn weight: Sport. Ball weight: 50 g, yarn length:130 m (142.17 yds).
Gauge: approx. 10 stitches in 5cm (2β) by 5,25 rows in 5cm (2β) in dc stitch pattern.
Using a different gauge wonβt affect the design, but it will change the finish size and the amount of yarn needed.
Hook 3.25 β 3.5 mm. Hook size needed to match the gauge.
Yardage for a large blanket with three pattern repeats: approx. 4000 meters of Sport weight yarn for each of your two colors, which is a total approx. of 8000 meters of yarn. (4300 yards per colors, a total of 8600 yards of yarn, 1500-1600 g for each colors)
Size: 150 cm wide and 210 cm long (59 inches wide and 82 1/2 inches long).
The use of other types of yarn or loose crochet can greatly affect the amount of yarn needed.
