the reason why ichinose asked ayanokoji for help is because in the light novel they were already acquainted with each other but the anime changed the timing of some events and switched out some of the characterβs roles with horikita the camera strategy that happens in the next episode iirc was actually ayanokoji and ichinoseβs plan and it happened after after this episodeβs confession in the LN i think. the anime switched the order and made it seem like they just met each other for 5 seconds but that wasnβt the case.
