haha, soap operas she watched! ClassicβI remember growing up, my grandmother would LOVE her Polish soap operas. Good times.

Many years ago, my Wife came home to say that a giant bouquet of flowers had been delivered to her place of work, with an unsigned card, which said, "I understand you enjoy music. Meet me at the band shelter at the park, at (time), on (certain date). Do not be late and DO NOT TELL YOUR HUSBAND!" Thank God she came home and told me about this right away, showing me the card. She said, "What should I do?" I said, "WE are going down there. I need to talk to this prick!" We got there before the designated time. She took a spot on the benches by the band shelter and I was a little ways away, pretending to eat some fast food at a picnic table. I told her, "If someone tries to grab you, drop dead weight to the ground and I'll be on the F-er in a heart beat!" I could tell she was scared, but she waited for this guy as I watched. After about 30 minutes, nobody had shown up. I tossed my trash and walked over to her with my hands in the pockets of my hoodie. She looked at me and said, "Now what? Should we just go?" I placed one finger to her lips and said, "Shhhh! DON'T TELL YOU HUSBAND. I'm going to take you to a hotel!" She looked puzzled, but I took her by the hand and led her back to the car. I had packed a bag with some of her things and left it in a room at a fancy hotel downtown that I had gotten us earlier. I also obtained tickets to a show she had been wanting to see. We got to the hotel, changed our clothes and went out for an expensive dinner, before going to the Show. She loved it! Later, we returned to the hotel for other activities. We only stayed that one night, but you see, she had been feeling pretty down lately and I thought I would provide her some excitement, intrigue, and joy. She loved forgetting about her worries for a night. The next day, she told me that she had become a minor celebrity at work. One of the busy bodies she worked with had read the card and soon everybody in the place was whispering about it. My Wife tried to tell them that I, her husband had sent the flowers, but they just giggled and shook their heads. Thought this kinda applied to this post.
